Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

I teach 4th grade at a South Los Angeles elementary school. This is a high poverty high crime neighborhood where the students are surrounded by environmental influences that at an early age affect their ability to learn. As a 4th grade teacher I feel that I am competing with outside influences that impede my students learning. I have noticed that when it comes to science my students become self-motivated and engaged. Their interest in all concepts of science motivates me to find new ways to bring this important subject into the classroom. This becomes difficult to do with the limited science equipment and materials that we have at our school site. The human body materials and equipment that you would donate to our classroom would allow me to enhance my health and science lessons as well as engage my students in meaningful learning through hands on experiments. Your generous donation could be the inspiration for these 4th graders to become doctors or scientists. I would like to thank you in advance for considering our classrooms proposal.
