This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I teach k-2 ELL students in a very small class. I see my students for language instructions in small groups. This year I have had a greater number of students enroll and my small group size has increased. Therefore our classroom space feels even smaller.
My classroom is in need of stools and decodable books for my small group phonics reading instruction.
I am currently unable to fit all of my students on my kidney table because the current seats I have are too wide. My students are always crammed and uncomfortable. Additionally, I have limited amount of decodable books for them to read, which are a vital component to phonics. The requested books, phonics kit, and magnetic wands will help my students develop their reading skills, while the stackable stools will provide more flexible seating options for my students.
