My Students
Many of my students are English language learners from economically disadvantaged families, but they have the most beautiful smiles and the best attitude towards learning. One student recently mentioned that an A- wasn’t good enough because it could turn into a B too easily. Some are scared to dream of happiness, stability, and prosperity, but I hope to excite them and show them how accessibility to technology can be a tremendous equalizer in education, communication, and creation of a better tomorrow for all.
My Project
Bulletin boards will give me an established area to post anchor charts and other useful information that students can apply to their daily use of technology, such as common keyboard shortcuts and reminders of which Google app performs what function. The easily-seen whiteboard will replace an ancient, illegible chalkboard as the central location for the daily agenda, learning goals, and assignment details. An engaging classroom experience where even the walls support learning will enable the digital learners of today to become the leaders of tomorrow by surrounding them with colorful, inspiring information that can be accessed with just a glance.
