it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I know it may sound cliche but my students are truly amazing. I believe that there is potential in each one of my students, even if they don't see it themselves. I try day in and day out to have them see that and show that in our classroom. There might be even days that they may test the limits of my patience but then they will surprise me with bursts of insight that surprise me and make me look at different things with a different perspective. That is why I think my students are amazing.
My students come from many backgrounds.
I even have students from other countries that bring something fresh to the table. They bring their perspective from their home country and compare it with how we do things here. These are the students that have discussions about issues of our world and find a new perspective about their lives. These are the students that tell me "Mr. B, I really enjoyed the class and want to learn more!" These are the moments that I teach for and inspire me to continue teaching.
My Project
Help me give my students more board space to learn & grasp information! History is the subject that is so in-depth and content that one whiteboard is not sufficient. Within lectures and note taking, my board tends to get filled up pretty quickly. But sometimes it’s very just difficult to continue a lesson because of the fact that we do not have an extra whiteboard for more resources and lecturing time. It would be wonderful to have an extra resource not only for extra space but for also the convenience of moving the whiteboard around the room. This will also help the students that have poor eyesight and will motivate other students to write down notes because they have better view of the board.
