My students need 30 dry erase boards and 2 dry erase markers each to show me that they are on board and that they understand!

Ready! Set! Go! Take a step into the door of my classroom and you may see 25 8th grade Social Studies students, but to me, I see our future. I see the artists, doctors, cosmetologists, teachers, and parents of future generations. I see them wanting to be challenged, wanting to be successful, and wanting to be part of the top crowd. Unfortunately, our students don't always receive the positive recognition that they deserve at home, from the community, or their peers. Our school and myself as one of the many teachers, are challenged with more than just "teaching." With 74% of our students on free or reduced lunch, we help our students with the death of parents, homelessness, and not being on grade level in their career of education. Our school and students have faced their challenges head on and are on board, ready for the next step towards success.

My students love competitions and being challenged. They work each day to achieve an 85% or higher on every assignment and will re-do the assignment to achieve mastery. Sometimes, this means a lot of patience on their part. I would love to incorporate dry erase lap boards into our classroom for the students to be able to show me that they understand our lesson. We can play Jeopardy!, have partner competitions, individual reviews and pop up checks throughout class. What could be more amazing then do a drop everything and grab your white board lesson?! Students will thrive and respond on the different options that will be available with the use of the white boards in the classroom.

White boards with dry erase markers will increase student motivation in class by allowing them to consistently work towards 85% mastery. I will be able to do a quick check throughout class and keep the students on their toes. Students will love the opportunity to have instant feedback and can also assist their partner by doing a quick check of eachother's white boards.
