This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Board games can be incredibly beneficial for students in various ways. They help with critical thinking and problem-solving by requiring players to strategize and make decisions based on limited information. Board games also promote social skills, as they encourage communication, teamwork, patience, and conflict resolution. Many games reinforce math concepts like counting, probability, and spatial reasoning.

Additionally, they improve concentration and focus, which are essential for academic success.

Games with storytelling elements or those that require creative thinking, like Dungeons & Dragons, boost imagination and creative problem-solving. Playing board games also enhances memory and cognitive development by involving recall of rules and moves. Finally, they teach students to win and lose gracefully, fostering emotional regulation. Incorporating board games into education provides a fun, engaging way for students to develop both academic and life skills.
