My Students
My students are creative and full of questions! They absolutely love hands-on, active, engaging projects, and challenges that allow them to think outside the box to find solutions! They come to school each day ready to try new things in order to grow both personally and academically.
Curious, enthusiastic, and creative; my students are eager to immerse themselves in any kind of challenge.
My students are engaged in creative, complex tasks and are encouraged to think like inventors. Kinesthetic learners, spatial learners, and logical learners all love exploring the different possibilities when given hands-on learning. My students will have opportunities to discover, construct, test, and explore using divergent, “outside the box” thinking.
My Project
Social-Emotional skills affect students’ decision-making, focus, attention, relationships, health, and learning. These skills provide the basis for building effective work practices, learning strategies, and career development.
Social-Emotional Learning is necessary for our students, especially in the context of the pandemic.
Through gameplay, students and families will be provided with opportunities for conversation through open-ended questions about students’ learning needs inside and outside of school (e.g., extra materials, more time on tasks, less workload) and their home environment (e.g., food, shelter, childcare).
Through these conversations, students and families will be able to share their perceptions and experiences related to COVID-19, their school community’s experiences with the school closures, and the impact of the economic changes.
For students to reach their fullest potential in academic achievement and success outside of school, they require deliberate discussions about their SEL with both teachers and parents.
