Board Games for High School Students to Support Mental Health/Socialization

My Project

At our high school, we have 2 periods in the middle of the day for students to complete classwork, study, or attend a Personalized Learning Time period (PLT) of their choosing. When students are caught up on work, they like to attend sessions where they can find joy with friends and take a much needed mental break in their busy day. My students have been asking for a board game PLT where they can relax with friends from the mental stress of the day.

It will allow them to take a screen break, build social and emotional connections with peers, and foster positive mental health during a stressful school day.

I have chosen a group of board games like Trivial Pursuit, Scrabble, and Uno that will exercise their minds, but relieve their stress. This will allow students to build their socialization skills in person (not on screens!), relax during a stressful day, and promote the importance of mental health and stress relief for teenagers.
