In the post-Covid world, it is essential for our students to practice interacting with other students face-to-face rather than through a screen. By using board games during SEL time, my 6th graders can interact with each other in a low stakes way while having fun in the classroom.
I plan to engage students in board games so that they spend less time on their laptops and practice strategizing and socializing, both key life skills.
Many of my students do not have access to board games at home, so I would love to get this resource into my classroom.
