Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I love that my students are not only intelligent and hardworking, but also incredibly social and community-driven. They thrive when given opportunities to collaborate, communicate, and challenge themselves — especially in ways that don’t involve a screen.
That’s why I’m creating an Unplugged Gaming Center: a space where students can engage with one another through fun, strategic, and creative board games.
These resources will give them a healthy break from digital devices while encouraging critical thinking, teamwork, and face-to-face interaction.
Games like Codenames, Ticket to Ride, Uno, and Chess will support different styles of play — from logical reasoning to creative wordplay to competitive fun. This center will not only promote social-emotional learning and stress relief, but also help build a stronger, more connected school culture.
