My Project

Imagine a classroom transformed into a vibrant game haven. Shelves overflowing with classics like Catan and modern marvels like Azul beckon curious minds, inviting them to explore the vast landscapes of game design. My students, natural detectives of mechanics, would dissect these worlds, uncovering the secrets that make games tick. They'd analyze how tension builds in Agricola, suspense in Mysterium, and teamwork in Pandemic. This wouldn't be passive observation; it'd be a playground of active experimentation, where every detail shapes the player experience.

But this library wouldn't just be a collection of others' achievements; it'd be a springboard for future creations from aspiring design students.

Inspired by their discoveries, students would weave their own unique tapestries. Prototype boards would sprout like mushrooms, testaments to the learning blossoming from play and analysis. This wouldn't be just individual growth; it'd be a collaborative hive mind, buzzing with shared discoveries, constructive critiques, and feedback that pushes everyone to new heights.

This project is about igniting creativity, nurturing critical thinking, and equipping future game designers with the tools they need to thrive. Each game, each prototyping tool, is a piece of the puzzle, building a learning environment as engaging as it is effective. My students aren't just passive recipients; they're active participants, storytellers with a hunger to leave their mark on the world of games. By providing a board game library, we give them the fuel their imaginations crave, the tools their creativity deserves, and the platform their talent demands. This isn't just a classroom project; it's an investment in the future of game design, and my students are ready to be the pioneers who shape it.
