This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

As they traverse this new world of digital learning, they have adapted, pivoted and rolled with the punches.

Zero, that is the amount of excuses my students make, day in and day out.

As their teacher, it is my hope to continue to provide them with critical, timely, and thought provoking instruction which motivates them to take life by the handlebars and drives them to use their voices and power to make the world, their city, and most especially their borough, a better place.

Technology is the the key to the future. As students in 5th poorest congressional district in America, my students are victims of a digital divide. As their teacher, I hope to use this printer as a means to enhance my virtual teaching and curriculum which will in turn deepen their experiences in the virtual classroom.

My Project

I teach students with special needs. They do not have access to printed materials. Many of them ask. With this printer, I will be able to print lesson resources in advanced and mail it to them to help assist their learning.

Hard copies of text have been proven to allow students to engage on a deeper level with the text.

For students with disabilities, this is key to cultivating independent understanding. Without printed materials, they often lose focus and struggle to meet their goals. Although we are moving to a digital age, printed word is still King.
