Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

This is my first year creating a reading resource space for my emerging readers. My vision is to create a space that is inviting, safe, and accessible for all of my young readers. Often, my young readers are distracted by their environment which exacerbates their reading struggles.

With your donations, my scholars will have a space they can feel safe and comfortable to learn, while falling in love with reading.

My readers need lots of visuals, so the display stands can hold their personal visual aids. The flexible seating will help keep students engaged. And most importantly, the camera will be used as a tool to help us celebrate our readers’ successes. When they achieve a goal, I’d like to commemorate it with a quick print picture that they can take with them and show their loved ones. Giving them this quick tangible method will help them physically see their progress and encourage them to keep striving.

My scholars are hungry to learn and passionate about reaching their reading goals. They’ve already achieved so much. They just need the tools and space to achieve even more, taking them over the threshold.
