My Students

“I want to do with you what spring does with the cherry trees.” ― Pablo Neruda, I want to help my students BLOOM not just grow! Our school is a brand new school this year and we would love to expand our knowledge of reading, writing, math, and financial literacy through the use of technology.

I work at a brand new charter school in Salt Lake City with 26 amazing Second Graders!

I have a wonderfully diverse group of students on very different levels of instruction, including English Language Learners. These students are smart, bright and just soak up the information they are given. Because we are a new school, we as of yet, do not have all the technology resources that these students deserve and will need to compete in a technological world.

My Project

Second grade is one of the last grades to teach the fundamentals of the English language. Technology is the universal medium that will help us achieve our goals in Reading, Math, Writing, Financial literacy and the Arts. Because my second grade students are so technology savvy I want to utilize this skill to help them grow and bloom! Our goal is to use these iPads to read eBooks on RazKids, use the Imagine Learning program for English language learners as well as those who need a little more scaffolding. They will also use the iPads to practice math fluency facts and money skills. This will help cement their foundation for future success in mathematics and their lives.

These six iPads will give our students the ability and practice to become the best that they can become.

They will be amazing readers, mathematicians and writers. These iPads will help my students be successful in their learning. They will enjoy their time at school and want to learn more and do more. The "soil" will be such that they will BLOOM not just grow.
