I've had the amazing opportunity to welcome a kind, diverse group of scholars to my classroom - and for many of them, this is their first experience with the school environment at all.
My school serves some of the highest need students in our area, and I want to set a foundation for academic success.
My students bring a variety of languages, cultures, and backgrounds to our classroom, and many of them are still learning how to be ready to learn at school. However, each and every child has such a great potential to learn and we have high academic expectations for our kindergarten scholars!
My Project
We are so fortunate in that we have enough technology in our classroom to create an iPad and computer station! It can be hard for my students to focus on their own technology without headphones and the cheap ones break easily or hurt their ears.
New headphones will enable the children to hear the interactive programs without distractions.
We will use them to listen to reading on Raz Kids and Epic, work on our phonics skills and practice our math as well! The students will be motivated to complete their work and they will build on 21st century skills that will impact their learning for the rest of their education.
More than three‑quarters of students from low‑income households
