Help me give my students a few more items for our block center. The tree house builders and flexible families set would really expand the children's learning. The tree house set can also be used with animals!
I teach 2 half day Pre-K classes each having up to 20 children in each class. The children vary in ages from 3-5 years old. Each child was screened and qualified based on individual at risk factors. All of our classrooms are at risk, grant funded classrooms.
We are a developmentally appropriate classroom teaching children social emotional, academic, and motor skills by using hands-on activities.
These are amazing intelligent kids and I love to see the excitement in their eyes every day!
My Project
We are excited to add a few more items to our classroom! Our children learn through play while being engulfed in a language enriched environment. The children can build while engaging in conversations and turn taking. Our block center is a popular center so keeping the children engaged is important. It's very exciting to watch the children interact cooperatively while having meaningful conversations. The children love to build using all types of blocks, therefore, these items would be welcomed materials.
The Tree House Builders and Flexible People Set will play many roles in our classroom.Many of our children have language deficits so we use materials like these to expand language and social/emotional skills.
These materials will also encourage cooperative play and often teaches problem solving skills as well. Our ELL students will also benefit as they can use these materials to role play or parallel play next to their peers while learning the English language.
