Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students with Autism are part of a school community of approximately 1,400 who attend school eager to learn. They enjoy learning vocational, social, motor, and academic skills daily. My students are inquisitive, passionate, eager, and motivated to learn independently.

My Project

Classroom lights are not the greatest for my students to utilize since they often flicker. My students all have sensory issues and many students from other classes visit our class to calm down or just to talk things out.

Fluorescent lights can be harsh for students with Autism.

They will reduce the harsh glare creating a safer, more soothing environment in our classroom.

My students will also have FEWER HEADACHES AND LESS EYE STRAIN.

Decreasing these issues will improve my student's sleep and have less anxiety in their learning environment.

These light filters will have a great impact on my students while helping them excel in their academics.
