This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

All of my students are English language learners with exceptional needs. My students have the great capacity to succeed as long as they are given the opportunity, encouragement, and proper resources.

According to Maslow’s Hierarchy of needs, if children’s basic needs are met, then they can begin to thrive, learn, grow and explore.

This concept is important to consider now more than ever. The COVID-19 outbreak has greatly disrupted the lives of many. While children have not been the face of the pandemic, I believe they have become the silent victims throughout this whole crisis.

My Project

Currently, my school has a device shortage. They do not have any extra laptops available. As a result, my students are unable to attend class during their remote learning days because they lack technology.

The interruption of school and daily routines can be especially challenging for young children.

Students lose their retention of skills and daily instruction which eventually leads to gaps in learning.

While my students are very eager and ready to learn, they do not have the learning tools that they need for academic success.

By donating to this project you will support my students' learning inside and outside the classroom. No longer will they miss school just because of a computer. Each student will have their very own laptop assigned to them throughout the school year.
