This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Every year, 7th graders complete an end of year project in which they design a new colony on Mars. This project is special for so many reasons, to name a few: it's interdisciplinary, students work on teams with roles, and students present their final projects to the entire school community. Students have a blast taking on their roles as CEOs and CMOs, designing a social media page for their start up company, and explaining the scientific reasoning behind their design choices. Every year, students say that they have the most fun and learn the most through this project.

This year, we need art supplies to help students' create the most memorable part of their project: a 3D model of their Mars settlement.

I am requesting cardboard to form the projects' bases and hot glue guns to make sure students can safely attach 3D structures to their projects. We appreciate in advance your support of this engaging, fun, and memorable project!
