This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
In a rural area like Yuma, students do not always get the opportunity to get the exciting, rigorous activities available in more populated areas. Yet, within my classroom, we make science a hands on activity where students get first hand opportunities to experience real world science scenarios.
My students thrive and thirst on new educational opportunities that may be otherwise unavailable.
These students are advanced learners who need further challenges to ensure they are getting the most out of their education. With a diverse population, these students get many perspectives and opportunities to learn from one another.
My Project
STEM activities are a great hands on activity that incorporate many different subjects to help students gain a better understanding of science. By integrating STEM activities throughout the school year, my students get hands on learning that make them more excited and engaged with their science education.
A blast off from a rocket is not only exciting, but will capture the students' minds and interests in, not only engineering, but forces and motion of flight.
Students will get an opportunity to build a model rockets and then launch these rockets using the launch set will ensure they understand the safety associated with these projects.
Ultimately, getting to see their creations in the real-world will engage the students excitement and enthusiasm and give them concrete examples of success.
