Blast Off With Pre-K!

Help me give my students the experience to explore the mysteries of outer space within the classroom. I will be giving my students the chance to use different STEM materials and stories to learn about space.

My Project

I teach 3-5 year old children from lower income families. My classroom consists of 18 children who speak both English and Spanish. They are all eager and willing to learn, especially about planets, stars and outer space! Pretend play and hands-on activities are their favorite ways to play!

With the struggles of the pandemic, my students are not able to go on field trips this year, which is why I want to make sure that I give them the chances to do so safely in the classroom, while maintaining the fun of the experience.

The rocket ship, astronaut and STEM magnetic tiles will be going in my block area which will be a hit with my kiddos. It will give them the opportunity to try to build their own rocket ship. The astronaut suit will be in my dramatic play area for the kiddos to use their imagination to blast off into space! They will also be reading stories to learn about the differences between Earth and space. I cannot wait to go on space adventures with my class this year!
