BEF STEM Blast Off Into Outer Space

My students need special art materials like glitter, neon crayons, paper, dough and paints to create a science and art picture illustrating outer space, planets and stars

My Students

The challenge facing my students is that they lack resources. We are a Title I and specials have been cut(Arts). Using the materials requested, children can create planets, stars, rockets ships using glitter, neon crayons, paper, dough and paints for this project through science, arts and language arts.

My sunny bright kindergarten students are generous and kind and appreciate every thing I do for them.

The school is Title I and limited in resources and materials. I want to captivate my students and have them create science and language arts enriched projects through the arts.

My Project

With these special materials, they will never forget the first time they were allowed to paint, discuss, write and create a picture about outer space showing planets and the stars. Student will listen to stories about space and discuss. They will examine planets and their moons. The culminating activity is that the students can illustrate themselves as space explorers soaring to a planet or the moon in their new space craft in their outer space painting. They will use sparkling glitter crayons and paint their planets with bold colors. They will get to display their work in school, write and discuss it.

Children will remember a painting experience through science, art and language arts.

They will write and discuss their finished art work and display it through the school as a culminating activity. These materials would make it possible to display quality art work about space with good craftsmanship.
