Black Students Matter

My Students

Due to the coronavirus our schools set up a student call and check in center for our students to ensure that they are able to complete their online assignments. We soon found out that it was not realistic for some students and special needs students to maintain their level of success because they did not have access to reliable technology. The virtual experiences for some urban students are virtual nightmares.

My Project

This project is entitled Black Education Matters! Readers are leaders. Writers are fighters. We just need your help in getting everything through our door! Your support will help the Writer's Workshop process run smoothly from day to day. The notebooks will be used to create journal logs and short responses to developmental and conceptualization writing sessions that reflect the discussions we have during our mini-lessons.

The donations will help to improve my students' understanding of and competency in authentic, meaningful writing!

By implementing the Writer's Workshop model, my students will begin to see themselves as true authors and illustrators of their own stories. We will use these materials to aide us in the process of becoming life-long writers. As the teacher, I have done extensive research and reading on Writer's Workshop in the primary grades. Yet I truly need your support to make this a reality. Thanks! Students can overcome that hurdle of not having funds to purchase school supplies such as notebooks and writing tools for every class. Students will write essays and brush up on their writing skills
