Black Panthers Graphic Novel: Literacy and Justice in High School

Help me give my students a class set of The Black Panther Party: A Graphic Novel to better understand the upheavals of the 1960s by engaging with this excellent text.

My Project

These graphic novels are for my regular-level United States History course which is filled with some of our school's best students. They are passionate about social justice and looking for role models for how to make the world a more just and compassionate place.

The graphic novels will be a centerpiece of a large unit on social change in America.

By studying the problems that the nation has faced in the past and how various groups like the Black Panther Party chose to address those problems, it is our belief that we can inspire a new generation of students to begin the hard work of continuing to make America better.
