Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
These books will continue to enhance the print-rich classroom that I strive to create. My classroom library is a very important part of our school work that my students really enjoy. They get to go book shopping once a week and read books of their own choice independently at least for 40 minutes a day. All of these books have been carefully chosen with my students in mind.
With these new books, my students will be able to choose from a wider multicultural relevant book collection.
This expansion of our library will allow them to access literature that helps children understand that despite our many differences, all people share common feelings and aspirations.
They will also be able to choose books that interest them. They will find characters they can connect and understand. The best way to increase reading ability is to read more, and these books will continue to help my students grow stronger in reading.
