Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My Project

Students will select an African American person from history that made an important contribution to the world.

They will read an biography of their chosen person. They will write a report detailing the person's early life, their adult life, and the contributions they made. They will then make a large construction paper version of their person and place their report inside.

Finally, they present their project to the class and it is proudly displayed. Students love this project. They get very involved in the research of their person's life. Not only do they learn about one famous person, they learn about the lives of all the other famous African Americans the class worked on. These books cover the lives of African Americans throughout our history. I selected biographies of some lesser know authors, painters, scientist to broaden their knowledge of Black heroes.
