My Project
At our school in Southeast Washington, DC, we have some of the most amazing 7th graders who are excited to travel internationally! For the past 4 years, our young Black and Brown boys have studied the Black Experience globally; and as a part of critical exposure, they are traveling to Europe. They will be following the steps of Fredrick Douglass, our school's character model as he traversed across Europe as a newly freed Black man.
To ensure that we have an amazing travel experience that changes their lives, we want to provide our boys with carry-on luggage.
Most of our boys are from low-income families where travel is not the norm; so they do not have proper luggage. Therefore, we want all of our boys to have uniform luggage for their travel that will make them feel like a jet setters! We simply do not want them to feel embarrassed.
