My Project
Too often, students living in poverty watch their birthdays pass like any other day—no cake, no small gift, no recognition—because their families are struggling to cover even the most basic needs. For these children, what should be a joyful celebration becomes just another reminder of what they don’t have.
This proposal seeks funding to provide birthday recognition—including modest prizes, treats, and personalized notes—for students who may not otherwise be able to celebrate.
Our goal is simple but powerful: to affirm each child's worth and build their self-confidence through moments of joy that say, “You are seen. You are valued. You matter.”
By creating consistent, inclusive birthday celebrations at school, we're reinforcing positive identity development, supporting mental and emotional well-being, and creating a culture where every student is empowered to celebrate themselves, no matter their circumstances.
This initiative will help ensure that poverty does not erase a child’s milestones. With your support, we can give students a moment that’s just for them—a moment that can spark pride, confidence, and a stronger connection to their school community.
