My Students

Our elementary is a school of 275 dynamically diverse students who speak over 20 languages and come from 5 of the 7 continents! We have a large English Language Learner population with many students whose families are here as refugees. Our school is nestled in a community on the outskirts of Atlanta and comprised of single-family homes and apartments.

Our students deserve the BEST educational experiences available to make sure they are college and career ready!

We can do that by increasing their exposure to engaging and exciting experiences that make the world accessible and understandable!

My Project

Our PreK-5th grade students have returned to the building and they would love the opportunity to observe nature up close and personal by having a Bird's Eye View of the birds in their community. This project would engage students of all ages, backgrounds, learning abilities, and grade levels. It allows for conversations about and the immediate application of Conservation Skills as students reduce, reuse, and recycle to complete this project. It also provides year-long opportunities to engage with the world around our kids without even having to go outside if the weather doesn't permit. Oh boy, if the weather is nice though, I would LOVE to get them outside with binoculars for some Birding and Nature Journaling. I have wanted to do a project like this for our school for a long time. Please help me give our kiddos a Bird's Eye View!
