Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Students at our school rarely ever get new things, so bringing in new laboratory equipment for them will help ignite their enjoyment for learning! Right now, we are not able to perform a lot of labs because of the lack of equipment we have. I know many of my students would love to be scientists one day, but have never been able to experience the joy of working hands-on with laboratory equipment.
By gaining these new test tube racks and chemical bottles, I can introduce new labs that my students have never been able to do, like exploring the human digestive system, understanding how enzymes work, how cells communicate with each other, and so much more!
In addition, the locks will allow me to lock the hazardous chemicals I have ordered, so they are safe for Arizona state standards.
My goal by the end of this is to give my students the opportunities in science that they never had before, and by gaining this lab equipment, I can work towards that goal.
