My Project

I love that my students are curious, hands-on learners who care deeply about their environment and their community. They are eager to explore the biodiversity in their school garden and beyond, and they take pride in becoming scientists and problem-solvers. The resources for this project will allow them to conduct real surveys, safely process invasive snails, and understand the connections between health, food, and ʻāina. Building snail hotels will give them engineering experience, while turning shells into artwork will let them express their creativity and raise awareness about protecting native Hawaiian snails. Each tool and material will help them grow not only as learners, but also as stewards of the land.
