My Project
My 3rd grade students are curious and excited about science and nature! Our school is in an area that is brimming with birds, and I'm hoping to use local birds and other animals to help my students learn important scientific practices and concepts in a way that is relevant to them.
A class set of binoculars will help my students to learn local birds and grow as biologists and citizen scientists.
I'm planning to use them to observe birds at our school campus, as well as take a special walking field trip to a local park. We will practice observation, identification, and gathering data as citizen scientists. I'm hoping it will be a memorable and engaging way for them to learn new skills and pay attention to the beautiful world around them.
