This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students live in Los Angeles surrounded by poverty. They have limited resources available to them in their neighborhood and school. Many students have experienced trauma in their lives and this makes it difficult to attend school. When they are at school they are eager to learn, feel safe, and try to leave their troubles behind.

Students feel safe at school.

They come to learn, play, and have fun with their peers.

All students at our school receive free lunch and now they are given a hot dinner before they go home.

My Project

Remember playing Bingo? What rhymes with hat? What begins with b? Let's roll the dice! Careful the tower might fall over! All these games are fun to play while learning our letter sounds, sight words, rhyming, cvc words, long and short vowels, and blends. My students will have so much fun while playing these games that reinforce what is being taught in the classroom. They will be able to play with partners, small group, and independently. They will have playing with traditional games. Students will enjoy learning again while playing.
