Binding Science Together

My Students

September of 2017, Houston was hit with a horrible storm that discplaced a good amount of students. Not only is being a 6th grader difficult, but also not having your own home to go back to really unfortunate. Growing up, you always have that one place in your home you go to study or do your homework. Some of my students still don't have that due to Hurricane Harvey.

My goal for the 2018-2019 year is to provide my students with all the school supplies they could possibly need.

I don't want them to worry about how they can buy all the necessary materials. Instead I want them to spend their money rebuilding their study spot in their new homes.

My Project

Students are given a giant list of supplies needed before the school year, requested by their future teachers. In the past, the request list has been extremely expensive and over the top. If I can take some of those supplies requests away, I think it will relieve the stress of back to school shopping for students and parents.

The binders will help students keep all their information, projects, assessments and activities all in one place.

At the end of the year, they will have a portfolio of all they have learned. Binders are usually one of the most expensive supplies too, therefore providing the students with this tool would be ideal.
