Help me give my students individually made materials that meet their unique needs, through the use of a printer, binding machine, and additional ink bottles.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I have a group of 10 amazing students with Autism Spectrum Disorder. They are hard working, enthusiastic learners despite the unchartered educational landscape they are currently in. They show up, work hard, and are hungry to learn on a daily basis.
In my classroom we are a family, everyone is accepted as they are, problems become solutions whether it is the first day or the last day.
My Project
Students with autism, learn best through the use of clear, well organized visual presentation. Many of the materials used in the general education curriculum are challenging for my students to comprehend simply due to the presentation being ambiguous, having too many words on one page, or simply not having enough visual support for students with language deficits . Many times merely presenting this material to my students cause frustrations, and therefore behaviors. To help me enhance their learning style, and perform to the best of their ability, I create individualized materials
To make these materials our classroom needs a color printer with extra ink, and a coil binder machine with additional coil binders.
The creation of these materials helps to decreases their frustration, increases their comprehension, as well as keeps them on par with their general education peers.
