This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
At the beginning of the school year, I teach my students the importance of keeping materials organized and secured. We have dictation sheets we use daily for intervention and copies of the read aloud for all of our ELA CKLA units.
Each student having a binder with the materials needed makes it easy to be prepared for class.
We don't have to stress about lost papers and interrupt teaching time. I have done this for the last few years and it has worked wonders. I would love to continue this tradition. During ELA, students will come to the rug with their binders and follow along with their copies of the read aloud. They can also underline or highlight key information and have it there for reference through the entire unit. During the dictation piece of intervention time, students will have the blank dictation sheets already set in their binders helping to keep them organized. Having these binders have helped my classroom and I hope to be able to continue this tradition.
