My Project

This upcoming school year, I will be working with 9th graders on their reading and writing skills in our English-Language Arts classes. Our school is equivalent to a Title I school, meaning we have a high concentration of children from low-income families.

My goal this upcoming school year is to help my students learn how to organize their notes and handouts so they can study efficiently.

Most of my students don't know how to set up a binder or organize the materials they are given in class, choosing instead to just shove the papers into their backpacks and eventually throwing them away. I would like to take time at the beginning of the school year helping my students create a place to store their materials so they have access to it all year, and can refer back to it when they need it.

The binders included in this project will be available for students who are unable to get one on their own. I want to make sure all of my students have the ability to organize their materials, and these binders will help those who can't provide their own.
