My Students
The students who I work with come from all countries, background and ethnicities; majority of them are bilingual, whose families are Spanish-speaking. The students that are in my classroom are preschool and pre-kindergarten age, some of whom have or have had an IEP for speech or other developmental delays. Some of my students have single parents who highly depend on our school for the language, education, and safety of their children.
When I think of my students, I see perfection in imperfections because they are children who deserve way more than what is given to them, yet are so grateful for any blessing that comes their way; achieving GREAT things with BIG hopes for those who matter most.
My Project
My students are very hands-on and visual learners, they're 3 and 4-years old. They like to look and touch and move things around. The vocabulary cards will enhance their learning by looking and translating the picture into their native language. They'll be able to read the pictures and talk about them with both their peers and teachers. The wipe board will be low on the floor at their eye-level, which they'll be able to see the entire lesson. This will help them be more engaged in each lesson. The Spanish books will enhance their Spanish lessons as they learn a letter/vowel combination weekly.
The materials will be manipulated by both the teachers and students, as we share the classroom and are one class community.
