Learning to read and write is a challenging but necessary part of early childhood development. It doesn't happen overnight, and it can be overwhelming. Imagine how difficult it is for students who are learning two languages. They are learning to decode letters and sounds and trying to make sense of a language that isn't always spoken at home.
My students need books that contain both languages.
Many of the books I have requested do just that. Students can use the illustrations and text to help them master English. Because the texts are bilingual, my English language learners will have the comfort of their first language to help them master their second language. The flashcard readers will be a great tools for the development of speaking and listening skills, too.
