This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Our project aims to empower our unique students by fostering bilingual literacy and social skills development. What truly stands out about our students is their diversity and resilience. Hailing from various cultural backgrounds, they bring a richness of experiences and perspectives to our classroom.
Through engaging Spanish-language children's books like "Sillas en Huelga," "Lápices en Huelga," and "Columpios en Huelga," we aim to instill a love for reading while enhancing their language proficiency.
These books, filled with vibrant illustrations and relatable stories, not only promote literacy but also celebrate their cultural heritage. Additionally, "Tijeras en Huelga" and "Pegamentos en Huelga" offer playful narratives that teach valuable lessons about teamwork and problem-solving.
"Una Carta de Tu Maestra en el Primer Día de Escuela" and "Reglas en el salon de clases" serve as essential resources for establishing a positive classroom environment. By setting clear expectations and fostering a sense of community, we create a safe space where every student feels valued and supported.
Moreover, the "Thought-Spot Canvas Activity Set" plays a crucial role in nurturing our students' social and emotional skills. Through interactive activities, they learn to identify and express their emotions effectively, laying the foundation for healthy relationships and coping mechanisms.
Our ultimate goal is to empower our students to become confident, compassionate, and lifelong learners. By providing them with the tools and resources they need to succeed academically and socially, we are equipping them with the skills to thrive in an increasingly interconnected world.
