This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Our school is a K-8 school in the Frankford Section of Philadelphia. It is a diverse school that allows students to be immersed in the arts from Kindergarten to 8th grade. The school has a growing ELL population of 100 students. There is currently no library in the entire school. We are planning to develop a library within our classroom where students have the ability to read books in their native language and English. This starter library would mean a lot to our students who are curious and who have a thirst for knowledge.
