Bilingual Library for My Newcomer ELLs

Help me give my students a bilingual library in English and Spanish so I can create a classroom where my new-to-the-country students can feel welcome and learn to love reading.

My Project

I am trying to create a bilingual library for my English Language Learners. This is so they can have a space in my room where they can go pick out a book in English and Spanish, and foster a love for reading. I chose books that reflected their interests, their backgrounds, and hopefully some books that might surprise and entice them to take a seat in the classroom reading nook and try out a new book. My students are mostly new to the country and have a low English level, but I don't want that to intimidate them to finding something wonderful to read. So I hope my bilingual library will help create the welcoming, safe space to open up.
