This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I am a first year teacher who will be working at my dream school. I student taught at DPES and fell in love with the students and the community. This is one of the few schools who actually promotes bilingualism following the correct dual language approach.
As a first year teacher, I will be the Spanish component in 3rd grade. Most students are newcomers and are experiencing drastic change as they try to adapt to the new culture. My goal is to make my room as welcoming as possible and provide them with all the basic needs a classroom should have. The requested crayons, markers, pencil sharpener, and other essential items will help make that possible.
