it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
In my new classroom, I’m working hard to create a bilingual library that supports my students’ love for reading. My goal is to provide them with books that help them learn and grow in both English and Spanish. This is especially important in our dual-language program, where students are encouraged to embrace both languages and cultures.
Right now, our collection is limited, so my students don’t have as many books as they need to fully explore and enjoy reading.
A library of our own would allow me to offer my students a wider range of books that speak to them and meet their needs.
My classroom is also very diverse, with students from different cultural backgrounds. The books I’ve selected will not only help them improve their reading skills but also allow them to learn about each other’s cultures. This will create a more inclusive environment where every student feels seen, valued, and connected.
