Help me give my students bilingual activities for our classroom centers! Books, games and "smart phones" will aid in the bilingual centers during play!
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are a mixed population of Hispanic, Native Americans, African Americans, and Caucasian. We are a Title I elementary school with 100% free breakfast and lunch. Many of our students come to school in the same clothes every day. Our students do not have an opportunity to experience, extracurricular activities at home or outside of school. We do our best to bring current educational trends to our school to benefit our students.
My students will be experiencing a "2 Way" school this year, learning 2 languages with a spanish and english instructor every day!
We would like a classroom books, and center games that would incorporate both spanish and english translations for alphabet, color, common words, and numbers.
My Project
Our elementary school was always a dual language school. Now we are a two way dual language school! All my students will have an English speaking teacher as well as a Spanish speaking teacher. My classroom needs exceptional learning materials to use at home, as I am virtually teaching, and in the classroom when they return. I currently have a few Spanish/English books in my classroom library but we need more "hands on" activities. Matching games, "smart phone" that translates, books and calendars will help in achieving a true bilingual classroom!
