This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students need Wonderbooks: bilingual books with a built-in audio player to help them read in English and Spanish. First, these books will enable students new to our school to have a book to read that they can understand and enjoy while they are acquiring English as a new language.

Students who are more proficient in English can use these books to strengthen their bilingual skills in listening and reading by seeing and hearing stories in both languages.

In addition, these books can bolster parental engagement when sent home with students so they can enjoy the book with their family. The built-in audio device in these books eliminates the need for an internet connection and reinforces correct pronunciation.
