Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My class now totals 24 students, all of whom come with a diverse array of personalities, learning styles, and needs.
I have the privilege of teaching several students on the autism spectrum, all of whom bring exceptional creativity, strength, and perspective to our class community.
All contributions will go towards sensory tools, adaptive materials, and other essential resources to help students feel comfort, safety, and joy in their learning.
Handheld dry-erase boards will make class-wide literacy instruction fun, tactile, and accessible way. A calming corner will allow an overstimulated student the opportunity to to sit in a quiet, low-light, private space to practice calming strategies. A bean bag chair will allow the student feeling dysregulated in their chair to take a break, rest their body, and come back to class relaxed. Whether by donating or simply sharing this project, your involvement means the world to me and my students.
