This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

By the fourth and fifth grade, many students have a fixed mindset on whether they are "good" or "bad" at math as well as other subjects. My goal is to help them shift their mindset and realize that their brain like any other muscle has the capacity to grow.

Having books focused on Growth Mindset, I can readily provide examples that model the incredible Power of Yet!

The book titled, "The 7 Habits of Happy Kids" will be used at the beginning of the school year as we work to establish our classroom community. This book uses engaging stories and charismatic characters to teach children specific characteristics to be a happy and productive member of society. The additional books will be used throughout the year as read aloud books to establish a strong foundation for Growth Mindset. The stories in the assortment of books will provide my students and I common experiences that we can refer back to.

With the addition of these amazing books on Growth Mindset, our learning can reach new heights!
