Big Things for Small (but Growing) Minds

Help me give my students the opportunity to have access to discovery cans, charts, markers, and other quality materials and supplies without having to worry about purchasing it themselves. Math in a Flash Discovery Cans will help me reach my most struggling learners.

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students will benefit tremendously from these supplies. Working in a neighborhood where many people wonder where their next meal is coming from has its unique challenges. I would love to provide students with the classroom supplies they need to be successful in the math class without them feeling like they need to figure out how they are going to be able to afford it.

When students step into my classroom, I want them to feel prepared to tackle the days challenges.

Helping supply them with pencils, erasers, crayons, number lines, markers, and other basic classroom materials is the first step in supporting my students in feeling ready to take on the day.

Math in a Flash Discovery Cans will also be super beneficial to my students with disabilities who struggle to learn in traditional ways. Having access to these themed cans and their manipulatives will greatly support the teaching, learning, and mastery that takes place in my classroom. This will allow me to work in small groups with students to address the learning loss that has undoubtedly occurred as a direct result of the pandemic.

Any help towards this project is greatly appreciated and would directly impact and support some of NYC's most deserving and special young people.
