Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My school is located in one of the roughest low-income neighborhoods in Southern California. Over 90% of my students, live in public housing and receive most of their meals in school. Unfortunately, the LGBTQIA community is often marginalized, under represented and stereotyped in this area.

With these resources, I intend to teach my little learners to respect diversity through kindness and understanding, culminating in our own PRIDE parade where students will be invited to freely represent themselves as they wish!

I want to instill in my littles the importance of forming their own identity and being true to themselves while also showing our community that teaching compassion and love for others starts early in a child's life.

These books a wonderful vehicle for students to learn about the LGBTQIA family and the TPT gift card will help to purchase resources, activities, projects and practice.
